Artist Bio

Evelyn Anastasiou was born in Limassol, Cyprus in 1981. She completed her studies at the Superior Fine Art School of Montpellier in France in 2005, earning a distinction from the jury. In 2009, Anastasiou represented Cyprus in the Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean held in Skopje, where she was honored with the Res Artis Worldwide Network of Artist Residencies Award. Subsequently, she hosted her first solo exhibition at the Frans Masereel Centrum in Belgium and has since been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions both locally and internationally. She has been resident artist at the Frans Masereel Centrum in Kasterlee, Belgium; Schloss Laudon – Kultur Kontakt Austria in Vienna, Austria; and Camac Center d’Art – Fondation Ténot in Marnay-sur-Sein, France.

Her artistic research practice encompasses printmaking, photography, and performances, drawing on a diverse array of materials. Her work draws from the imagery, history, and elements of music constructing fragmented narratives that resonate as symbolic musical re-echoes.
