Artist Bio

Natalie Yiaxi is a multidisciplinary artist based in Nicosia. Her practice is an ongoing attempt to capture the ineffable and those affectual aspects of everyday life that are not readily available for observation. Her works range from sculptural gestures and drawings to publications, written and spoken word, sound, and video.

In 2018, she co-founded the artist-run gallery PARTY Contemporary (2018-2020) in Kaimakli, and in 2016 she founded the self-publishing imprint Bast Fooks. She was a DESTE Prize finalist in 2015. In 2013 she co-represented the Republic of Cyprus in the 55th Venice Biennale.
